New Version of the PC Color Mixer App!

We’re excited to announce some powerful new features that have been added to the PC Color Mixer app—designed to give polymer clay artists even more ways to explore and create with color. Whether you’re mixing for fun, for your next project, or just experimenting, these updates are here to make color mixing more flexible, intuitive, and accurate.
Here’s what’s new:
Input Colors Using RGB or CMYK Codes
In addition to entering a hex code, you can now input RGB or CMYK values to generate a polymer clay color recipe. This opens the door to a wider range of color inspiration—especially from tools and resources that don’t use hex codes but do use RGB or CMYK (like print design guides or digital art tools). No more converting colors manually—just plug in your color code and get your clay mix!
Pick Colors from an Image
You can now upload an image from your device, select colors directly from it, and PC Color Mixer will provide the hex codes and corresponding polymer clay recipes for those exact colors. Whether it’s a favorite photo, artwork, or a clay color you’re trying to match—this makes it easier than ever to bring your inspiration into your clay studio.
There are now 5 different ways to supply your color choice to the app for generating a polymer clay recipe - choosing from the color spectrum on the home page, picking the color from an image on your device, or supplying hex, CMYK, or RGB codes! Whichever method you choose, the app then provides you with a recipe (in grams) for the exact number of ounces of clay you wish to mix.
Improved Color Matching Formulas
Behind the scenes, the app uses custom math and logic designed specifically for polymer clay. Unlike ink or paint, polymer clay has unique characteristics—like color strength, opacity, and how colors blend—and the app takes that into account.
We’ve fine-tuned the formulas since the last version, improving accuracy across many hues. The majority of colors are now spot-on, and many others are even closer than before. We’ll continue tweaking and improving the engine, with the goal of making every recipe as accurate and reliable as possible.
Availability
The updated version is now available on both iOS and Android devices. Depending on your settings, the new version may update automatically on your device. If not, you can go to the app store, search for PC Color Mixer, and tap Update.
